1. There is a unique element in the kit.
Sometimes there's that one fabulous thing about a kit that jumps out at you. For example, the gorgeous light green sheer ribbon in "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" had Vivian's heart aflutter, but an Earth Day kit didn't seem like something she could use more than once. She was able to use the many beautiful papers and elements (40 papers, 136 elements, 37 word arts) to create a lovely Easter layout, you'd never know this was an Earth Day kit! And that ribbon looks amazing!

2. There is a unique color scheme.
One of the first things I notice about a kit is the color scheme, and I find myself wanting to use kits just for the great colors. Tina noticed the beautiful vibrant blue hue in Geometrics but didn't think a kit about math was something she would use, until her son's birthday when she realized this kit was just perfect for her son's new shirt and birthday photo! A kit about math didn't keep her from making this layout and enjoying the uniquely perfect color palette!
3. It’s a holiday kit.
There are some great holiday kits out, but I like being able to use a kit for more than one purpose. Think that’s not possible? Check out this layout by PattyB, she took "Chinese New Year Dragon" and reused it for spring flowers emerging from the snow! I love the way this one turned out!
I hope this inspires you to see a kit for all of its potential. Here's another great example by Melody123! There are so many ways to be creative in your scrapbooking. I’d love to hear how you use themed kits too!
