First Tuesdays Inspiration #12

It's First Tuesdays Inspiration day! You gotta love Pinterest, am I right? All the great ideas I was going to have are already there with photos and comments, lol! I found some cute little lunch box notes for my kids and also discovered you can write on banana peels! I've been writing little notes to my daughter on her banana every day now and when we ran out of bananas, the first thing she said to me when I picked her up from school was, mommy, where was my banana with the note on it?!?

I like to make these kinds of treats for my kids; they aren't the treats full of sugary sweetness and they seem to mean a lot more. This month, my inspiration for you is 'treats.' And yes, you can use the sugary sweet ones too, lol! But I was thinking something more like when hubby makes a fire in the fireplace just because, or my daughter writes "i ♥ mommy" on a piece of paper and leaves it on my office chair, or my son stops playing with his buddies just to come over and give me a hug. It's November first and time for our First Tuesdays Inspiration! Let's get thankful! This month find something in your life that you are thankful for, is it something as simple as indoor plumbing, or should we go big and say our loved ones? First Tuesdays Inspiration #9

It's time for First Tuesdays Inspiration! This month I want you to be inspired by an introduction. My son was just introduced to the guitar and he has taken to it like fish to water!  He was very excited to be able to strum and be taught how to play a few chords. With the help of his instructor, he was able to go through a verse of a song strumming along. It was so much fun to watch him trying something new. Of course I had to snap a picture (or 2 or 3) and mark this day of him opening up this artistic interest. First Tuesdays Inspiration #8

It's time for your First Tuesdays Inspiration! My hubby's birthday is on Thursday, so he is taking the morning off from work and we are going to go out to breakfast together. This is not something we get to do very often, so it's a special treat. It's fun to eat out, have no dishes to do, and enjoy some conversation that doesn't involve being interrupted by little voices.

What is something you do, or the family does that is fun? It could be playing a game or playing with toys, playing with pets, a hobby, reading a book, or anything that brings fun to your day. I can’t wait to see what you all come up with!

First Tuesdays Inspiration #7

It's First Tuesdays Inspiration time and today is a tough one. We all have those times when something doesn’t go right. These are the times my daughter used to say (when she was much younger) "das no good!" It was super cute and the best way to get a smile out of something you wish hadn't happened. Today for me, it was taking the laundry out of the dryer to find my hubby had left a pack of gum in his pants pocket. I stood there so long in shock trying to figure out what to do that taking a photo was the only thing that came to mind, lol! Usually my "das no good" moments come from having two small children, but today it was hubby's turn. No one's life is perfect, it's okay to document some of the bad stuff, and crafting is such good therapy, its bound to help you feel better! Let me see what you create, leave me a comment below.

Is it First Tuesdays Inspiration time already?! Yeah! This month let's look at some of our treasured junk! My daughter asked me what a rummage sale was the other day and while trying to explain to a 6 year old that one man's trash is another man's treasure, it got me thinking. Most people have family heirlooms, some priceless antiques, or just plain junk that they love. My grandfather used to go to the dump and find all kinds of treasure to bring home, much to my grandmother's chagrin, lol! We all love flea markets and finding that special something that is 'different.' Let your imagination run free with this one, there are so many ways to be inspired here! It's First Tuesdays Inspiration time! Let's talk about the giggles. My children are 22 months apart, with my son being the oldest. Being so close in age, he and my daughter can play together all day long. It doesn't matter what they play and sometimes they invent some of the strangest things that keep us all laughing. First Tuesdays Inspiration #4

It's time for another First Tuesdays Inspiration! This time we are talking about collections. Throughout our lives we all collect something. When I was younger I collected sea shells. My husband collected comic books. My daughter recently started collecting rocks. My son wants to start a collection but hasn't quite figured out what his treasured item will be. It's been really cute watching him test out different things, lol. 

Documenting collections is important, because you can’t always guarantee that you’ll have them. My shell collection was lost in a storage unit moving mishap some 20 years ago, with nothing but my memory to remember them. I don’t know if my kiddos will eventually outgrow their collections, but if they do, I will have photos for them to enjoy in later days. First Tuesdays Inspiration #3

Are you ready for March's First Tuesdays Inspiration? This month we are talking about toys (yours or theirs!) Toys that meant something to us will always bring back fond and happy memories if we stumble upon them in the future. I can’t put into words the intense feelings I get when I see the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe (the red and yellow car you could get into and scoot around in, they just recently had their 30 year anniversary!) it brings back memories of me playing for hours with my sister. It's these sort of fond memories I want for my kids so that when they look back through photos or scrapbooks they can remember those times with whimsy. I had a lot of fans of my Creating Keepsakes Free Font Friday; this year I am doing First Tuesdays Inspiration and I hope you all will love it as well! On the first Tuesday of each month I will be posting some crafty/scrapbooking/photography inspiration you can use for whatever project your heart desires...

With this new year, and new month, and our very first First Tuesdays Inspiration of 2016, let's focus on YOU!

I know some of us are not fond of having our photo taken, but we all know that we need to allow these photos to be taken every once in awhile because we (you and me too) deserve to be documented too. So go ahead, flip that camera around, or hand it off to a trusted bystander. And yes, it's ok to 'freshen up' first, lol!
